Job Description:
Full-time, tenure track, renewable depending on performance, departmental needs, and/or funding availability. The first review begins December 2024 with continuous recruitment until filled. The division of Social Sciences at the University of Hawai'i-West O'ahu (UHWO) invites applications for a full-time tenure track Assistant Professor in Sociology to begin on August 1, 2025. We seek a dynamic and dedicated individual who is passionate about teaching, research, and contributing to the academic community.
Specializing in serving a large native Hawaiian population, effective teaching is the primary mission of this position and the UHWO. Preference will be given to applicants prepared to teach Introduction to Sociology, Sociological Theory, Methods and/or Statistics and at least three of the following: Medical Sociology, Sociology of Aging, Sociology of Sexuality, Sociology of the Body, Death, Dying and Bereavement, Applied Sociology: CBPR in Health, and Deviant Behavior.
