This recruitment is being conducted under the Operation Hire Hawaii (OH-HI) project, a targeted outreach initiative featuring an expedited hiring process, fast-tracking qualified applicants into job opportunities throughout Hawai'i.

This vacancy is with the Department of Human Resources Development, Employee Claims Division.

Salary:

  • Level II - $4,495 per month (SR-18, Step D)
  • Level III - $4,858 to $5,918 per month (SR-20, Step D to I)
  • Level IV - $5,258 to $6,399 per month (SR-22, Step D to I)
  • Level V - $5,918 to $7,198 per month (SR-24, Step D to I)

Duties Summary:

Level II: This is the advanced trainee level through which the trainee advances as part of his/her progression to full performance as an independent worker. Work assignments require the application of principles, methods and techniques of vocational rehabilitation to provide rehabilitative services, training and job placement for individuals with disabilities.

Level III: This level performs as a full journey worker in the vocational rehabilitation field where positions perform vocational counseling, evaluation and rehabilitation services for the full range of cases coming within the scope of the department's vocational rehabilitation program.

Level IV: This level reflects the complete mastery of professional vocational rehabilitation services skills and include the first level professional vocational rehabilitation supervisor, program specialist and consultant.

Level V: This level reflects professional leadership and includes supervisors and program specialists.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

To qualify, you must meet ALL of the following requirements:

Legal Authorization To Work: The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.

Education: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Current Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC): Required for all levels of Track A.

Driver's License: Applicants must possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.

LEVEL II Requirements: One (1) year of progressively responsible professional General Experience which has provided a general knowledge of training practices, techniques and requirements in one or more occupations.

LEVEL III Requirements: One (1) year of progressively responsible professional General Experience as described above AND One (1) year of professional Specialized Experience in vocational rehabilitation.

LEVEL IV Requirements: One (1) additional year, or a total of two (2) years of Specialized Experience.

LEVEL V Requirements: One (1) additional year, or a total of three (3) years of Specialized Experience.
