Description of Work Unit: CEMML is a research, education and service unit within the Warner College of Natural Resources at Colorado State University (CSU). CEMML applies the latest and most appropriate science to promote the sustainable management of natural and cultural resources on Department of Defense (DoD) and other public lands. We provide technical support, conduct applied research, and offer career development and learning opportunities to support resource stewardship.
A National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Lead position is available with the Colorado State University Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands (CEMML). This position will provide NEPA /Hawaiʻi Environmental Policy Act (HEPA) review, analysis, documentation, and project coordination support for U.S. Army Garrison Hawaii (USAG-HI). Additionally, the Lead will coordinate and supervise CEMML's NEPA Analysts who support the USAG-HI Environmental Division.
Responsibilities include NEPA/HEPA document review and analysis, including reviewing draft and final Environmental Assessments (EAs), Environmental Impact Statements (EISs), Programmatic Environmental Assessments (PEAs), Record of Environmental Consideration (RECs), and related technical documents. The Lead will provide technical expertise in the development of environmental documents and will develop and disseminate project timelines/milestones with staff and cooperators. They will support USAG-HI planning and decision-making through facilitation of the NEPA process, including the collection, analysis, and distribution of data; agency coordination; preparation of required documents; coordination of CEMML staff; and participation in public meetings.
Overnight travel may be required. Relocation expenses are not available.
