Position Overview:

The Admin/Human Resource Manager is a dual-role position responsible for overseeing administrative operations and managing the hotel's human resources functions. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring efficient daily operations, fostering a positive work environment, and aligning HR practices with the hotel's goals and values.

Key Responsibilities

Administrative Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee and manage office operations, supplies, and vendor relationships.
  2. Coordinate and organize meetings, schedules, and internal communications.
  3. Maintain accurate records, including licenses, certifications, and permits.
  4. Assist with operational reporting, budgeting, and record-keeping.
  5. Support departments with administrative tasks as needed.

Human Resources Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement HR policies and procedures in compliance with federal and state laws.
  2. Handle recruitment, onboarding, and orientation processes for new hires.
  3. Manage payroll, timekeeping, and employee benefit programs in coordination with the finance team.
  4. Address employee relations issues, mediate conflicts, and promote a culture of respect and teamwork.
  5. Coordinate training and development programs to enhance staff skills and performance.
  6. Ensure compliance with the Waikiki Resort Hotel's Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field.
  2. 3-5 years of experience in HR and/or administrative roles, preferably in hospitality.
  3. Strong knowledge of Hawaii labor laws and HR compliance requirements.
  4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR software systems.
  6. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

  1. Experience with collective bargaining agreements (CBA).
  2. Familiarity with Opera PMS and Sage 100 (or similar systems).
  3. Multilingual abilities, especially in Korean or Japanese, are a plus.
