INTRODUCTION
This position is responsible for providing the overall leadership, direction, planning, organization, and control of business transformation projects for all units under the Office of the Vice President for Administration (OVPA). The Director of Business Transformation and Technology plays a pivotal role in driving organizational change and evolution to achieve strategic objectives through the use of technology. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, analyzing business processes, and implementing technology transformational initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and profitability. The Director of Business Transformation and Technology will be responsible for developing and executing transformation plans, ensuring alignment with the OVPA's vision, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The subject position reports directly to the Vice President for Administration (VPA).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directs the planning, organization, implementation, and administration of business and technology transformation projects for all units under the OVPA.
- Identifies and assesses areas within the OVPA that require transformation to enhance efficiency, competitiveness, and adaptability to evolving conditions.
- Analyzes current processes, technologies, and strategies and develops comprehensive transformation plans.
- Leads/facilitates change management efforts by ensuring all stakeholders are engaged, informed, and supported throughout the transformation process.
- Directs staff of professionals to ensure that performance goals are met and provides guidance.
- Evaluates, recommends, and implements technology solutions to support transformation initiatives, including software, tools, and systems within the OVPA.
- Instructs consultants, contractors, and vendors on University practices, policies, and procedures and obtains and/or negotiates fee proposals for goods and services required utilizing standard procurement methodologies.
- Utilizes data-driven insights to make informed decisions, monitors progress, and measures the success of transformation efforts.
- Identifies potential risks and obstacles to transformation success, develops mitigation strategies, and adopts plans as needed.
- Establishes key performance indicators and performance benchmarks to track the impact of transformation initiatives.
- Develops training programs to upskill employees and ensure they are equipped to adapt to new processes and technologies.
- Manages the budget allocated for transformation initiatives, ensuring cost-effective solutions and efficient resource allocation.
- Maintains detailed records, reports, and documents related to transformation projects and progress.
- Fosters a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging feedback, identifying opportunities for optimization, and implementing change accordingly.
- Collaborates with key stakeholders to align objectives, secure resources, and communicate the vision for change throughout the organization.
- Provides support and assistance to the Vice President for Administration.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience in business analysis and project management that integrates business needs with technology solutions
- Three (3) years of high-level, responsible administrative, supervisory, and project management experience in a large complex organization
- Broad-based experience in the successful planning, design, and management of large scale information technology and/or transformation implementations
- Strong analytical skills and demonstrated ability to solve unstructured problems and effectively overcome obstacles
- Ability to manage complex projects and handle multiple priorities
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION- Master's Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Sciences, or Business Administration
