RESPONSIBILITIES I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES: u2022 Patrols the buildings and grounds of The Queenu2019s Medical Center (QMC) as well as the outlying properties to provide a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, employees, medical staff and the protection to property. u2022 Greets, assists and provides service to patients, visitors and staff in a friendly and professional manner. u2022 Performs duties relative to accomplishing the QMC Emergency Preparedness function. II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: u2022 Essential: Standing, sitting, walking, running, driving/riding of a bicycle, twisting/side bending, climbing, squatting, bending, kneeling, crawling, climbing stairs, seeing, hearing, speaking, lifting 30 to 50 pounds, carrying 35 to 50 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds of force. u2022 Frequent: standing, walking, driving, climbing stairs. u2022 Occasional: sitting, lifting/carrying 21 pounds up to 35 pounds from ground to shoulder level, lifting 11 pounds up to 20 pounds above shoulder, pushing/pulling up to 70 pounds of force, twisting of body, reaching above shoulder level, forward reaching, walking on uneven ground. u2022 Operates computer, typewriter, telephone, copier, CCTV, 2-way radios and various types of vehicles. III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: u2022 Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions. u2022 Exposure to body fluids, blood products, and communicable diseases. u2022 Work environment may be highly stressful, fast paced, and hectic. u2022 Exposed to electrical hazards, fire hazards and unsafe conditions and may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, hazardous chemicals and materials, intense heat, extreme cold, natural and manmade disasters and hazards associated with working in and near traffic. u2022 The noise level in the work environment varies from moderate to extreme. IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE: u2022 High school diploma or equivalent. u2022 Post secondary coursework or college degree preferred. u2022 Current State of Hawaii Guard Registration card. u2022 Valid U.S. driver's license required in accordance with Hawaii state law rules and regulations. u2022 Driver's abstract or evidence of good driving record. u2022 Meet and comply with qualifications set forth in QMC Fleet Safety Policy. u2022 Current BLS-HCP certification. B. EXPERIENCE: u2022 Previous law enforcement, firefighting or security experience preferred. u2022 Experience to demonstrate: o Customer service skills to deal effectively with customers. o Ability to write complete and accurate reports. o Ability to speak, read, write and understand English both orally and in writing and the ability to effectively communicate ideas, thoughts, and concerns.
