As a Senior Cost and Schedule Engineer, Risk Analyst, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and coordinating large multi-discipline heavy civil cost estimates and construction schedules including analyses of risk to construction cost and schedule. You will work with a dynamic team of engineers, cost estimators, schedulers, and risk analysts in Stantec's construction engineering group and beyond. You will be a productive leader on the team and will mentor and support others in the development of their skills.

The position will have responsibility to support exciting, complex projects throughout the world ranging from approximately $1 million to $15 billion. The successful candidate will be responsible for the coordination and development of cost and schedule estimates and risk analyses at project development milestones.

Your Key Responsibilities

1. Supervise and coordinate the timely and complete development of multi-discipline cost estimates, construction schedules, and construction cost and schedule risk analyses (CSRAs).
2. Prepare and deliver cost estimates and construction schedules, and CSRAs, while working with the project team.
3. Prepare basis of estimate reports and CSRA reports for the end user.
4. Provide innovative solutions for construction, estimating issues and problems.
5. Interface with designated management and client counterparts for specific estimating and risk analysis tasks.
6. Serve as a cost estimating and/or risk analysis point of contact for internal clients.
7. Manage and provide guidance to junior and intermediate staff.
8. Develop, maintain, and improve procedures and tools for construction cost and schedule estimating, and risk analysis.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

1. Extensive technical knowledge of cost/estimating, engineering design, and construction practice and applicable standards and procedures.
2. Advanced understanding of different contract methods and how they apply to estimating.
3. Experience with one or more scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project).
4. Experience with Sage Timberline Estimating, On-Screen Take-Off, MCASES MII, IPE, HCSS or other databased estimating platforms.
5. Experience with Oracle Crystal Ball for completing Monte Carlo simulations to support CSRA development. Optional experience with other risk analysis software, such as Lumivero @Risk or Deltek Acumen Risk.
6. Experience abiding by U.S. federal guidelines for completing cost and schedule estimates, and CSRAs.
7. Ability to travel for site reconnaissance and interfacing with clients and stakeholders (domestic travel may be periodically required).
8. Experience working with other discipline estimators to develop a comprehensive project estimate.
9. Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, direct, perform, review, and present cost and schedule estimating projects, and CSRAs.
10. Ability to solve complex problems using sound professional judgement, creativity, and innovation.
11. Ability to guide and mentor estimating team members in engineering and construction based estimating techniques and methodologies.
12. Positive attitude with strong relationship building skills.
13. Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Construction Management, Operations Management, or related field is required.

Minimum of 20 years of combined experience in an engineering, estimating, or risk analyst role is preferred.

Typical office environment working with computers. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
