Substitute assistant teachers are essential members of our school community; they impact students on a daily basis in meaningful and mission-driven ways through their versatility in the classroom.

Substitute assistant teachers work on an on-call or as-needed basis. They provide a valuable service to our students and assist the classroom teacher/kumu in delivering a quality instructional program. The ideal candidates will have the ability to adapt to new environments and provide a classroom environment capable of the smooth delivery of ongoing instructional programs. Substitute assistant teachers with Kuaihelani will not only be helping kumu deliver in-class, but also in-field learning experiences that will take students off campus and into our community.

Position Details:

• Work Year: 9 Months
• School Year: 2024-2025
• Work Hours: Monday - Saturday, Variable hours between 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor program in education or a related field; bachelor's degree preferred.
• One (1) year of experience with 'Ike Hawai'i teaching and learning in K-12 setting.
• Familiarity with 'ike Hawai'i curriculum and teaching through culturally grounded pedagogy for various age ranges.
