If you are excited about our mission and passionate about our values, we seek an experienced Executive Chef for our Kapolei, Oahu restaurant. The qualified applicant should have extesive practice as a productive, organized, and caring leader for our high-volume kitchen. You should be confident in building, developing, and maintaining enthusiastic teams. Preferably, you are a current Oahu or Hawaii resident and have 1 or more years of culinary experience. We are looking for a proficient Chef/Asst. Kitchen Manager. Mexican cuisine experience is helpful. Competitive pay with tipping pool included.
Desired Responsibilities:
· Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities
· Help in staffing the kitchen and managing the team
· Help to arrange for equipment maintenance and repairs and weekly/monthly deep cleans
· Give prepared plates the “final touch”
· Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
· Fluent in best practices food control, including daily temp checks and line checks for am/pm shifts
· Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county, and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety, cleanliness, and labor requirements of the restaurant, employees, and guests.
Skills
· Proven working experience as a lead line cook/asst kitchen manager
· Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently
· Capable of delegating multiple tasks
· Communication and leadership skills
· Keep up with cooking trends and best practices
· Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)
· Experience with traditional Mexican Food preferred
· Fun-loving, hard-working, and good-natured.
