POSITION SUMMARY

As an integral part of a team, the Dry Cleaner is responsible for continuously looking for ways to improve each guest's experience from providing exceptional guest service to handling guest laundry/dry cleaning, pressing requests, transporting guest laundry to laundry room and returning cleaned laundry to guest room.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Knowledgeable in dry cleaning equipment, stain treatment essential
• Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
• Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
• Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
• Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction via communication
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
• Handle guest laundry, pressing requests.
• Pick up laundry from guestrooms.
• Verify guest laundry against valet ticket; work closely with marker, clerks and supervisors
• Tag and repair damaged garments.
• Remove spotting from tagged laundry.
• Sort guest laundry as per labels and color.
• Total charges and record on valet ticket.
• Operate Dryer, dry cleaning machines.
• Press and fold guest laundry, press uniform
• Deliver laundry to guestrooms and uniform room
• Clean all machines and equipment daily.
• Complete and file paperwork daily as required.
• Re-stock all supplies and advise next shift of all pertinent information.
• Perform all other duties as may be required or assigned.

Reports To: Laundry Manager

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate
• Any combination of education and experience which would provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to meet the minimum qualifications to perform the essential functions of this position

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

• Dry cleaning experience and stain treatment knowledge required
• Ability to anticipate guest needs; respond promptly and acknowledge all guests.
• Ensure familiarity with all hotel services/features and local attractions and activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
• Must be highly organized, detail-oriented and have the ability to multi-task.
• Ability to maintain positive guest relations at all times.
• Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal.

• Ability to exert physical effort in transporting 50-75 lbs.
• Reach 5-6 feet.
• Ability to stand/walk for up to 5 hours throughout work shift.
