SUMMARY
Repairs and maintains physical structure of GWIH facility and stores. Performs routine and minor building, facility and store maintenance as directed to include carpentry, painting, masonry, plumbing, electrical repairs and other related activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Reviews work orders in Issue Trak and coordinates repairs with facility and store managers prior to commencing maintenance activities.
Understands GWIH Maintenance Program. Annotates records of planned and completed maintenance as prescribed by the program.
Estimates costs, parts, and supplies to be used during scheduled maintenance.
Sets up and operates machine tools and retail store fixtures.
Builds, repairs, and installs partitions, floors, doors, building framework, and trim.
Replaces damaged ceiling tile, floor tile, and wall coverings. Occasional floor maintenance, i.e. Carpet cleaning, floor stripping, wiping & buffing. Installs items such as venetian blinds, curtain rods, fans, and door locks.
Constructs and repairs structural woodwork.
Applies coats of paint, varnish, stain enamel, or lacquer to decorated and protect interior or exterior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of building.
Fills nail holes, racks, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other filler.
Conducts minor concrete surface construction and repairs.
Assembles, installs, and repairs pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems.
Observes functioning of equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
Notifies management concerning need for major repairs.
Conducts repairs within constraints of personal skill level.
Works in a safe and responsible manner and complies with safety standards.
Understands use of P.P.E. (Personal Protective Equipment) & required to wear safety shoes/boots at all times. Work shoes with a removable steel toe cover are acceptable.
Conducts work in a safe and responsible manner, utilizing protective clothing and/or equipment and compiles with all safety standards.
Provides assigned job status updates and reports delays as soon as known. Provides weekly update on pending jobs and completion date on finished jobs.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Certificate of course/technical training completion. Must have a valid driver's license and traffic abstract that meet's company guidelines. Access to an insured vehicle with current safety and registration.
