Summary:

Under the supervision of the Produce Receiving Supervisor, receives and unloads container shipments, air freight, local produce delivered by farmers and other produce delivered by other companies; moves produce to designated reefers and rotates by FIFO; and prepares Neighbor Island orders for shipment.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Receive incoming and outgoing shipments
2. Unload/load containers
3. Check all received produce for damage, decay and count according to company procedures; report damage, shortages, overages and other discrepancies on the manifest to the supervisor
4. Date stamp all incoming cases; store and rotate in appropriate reefer
5. Load the Neighbor Island orders into containers
6. Prepare equipment and vehicles for use; includes checking forklift to ensure it is in operating condition and performing routine inspection of mechanical equipment
7. Perform other related warehouse duties as may required / assigned
8. Assist customers with "will call" orders
9. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices that were discussed prior during orientation

1. Requires basic reading, math and problem solving
2. Requires frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs
3. Requires operating a forklift and pallet jack. Prior experience helpful but not required. Will train if needed
4. Must be able to work in a cool / refrigerated area, temperatures ranging from 30 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit
5. Requires learning warehouse operations including receiving, inspecting, unloading, loading, rotating produce and working to specific routine
6. Must follow specific instructions and safety procedures
7. Warehouse experience is preferred
8. Must be at least 18 years of age
9. Must be able to work on the weekends
10. Must be able to work overtime as needed

1. Work involves frequent lifting of produce weighing up to 50lbs
2. Must wear hairnet / beard net when in the warehouse
3. Temperatures in the warehouse range from 30 - to 50 degrees Fahrenheit
4. No jewelry and personal cell are allowed while working in the warehouse
5. No food and beverage allowed in the ware house
