Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for determining mission essential operating equipment requirements, planning replacements, availability of substitutes, and level of utilization, priority of acquisitions, and recommending repair or disposal of equipment items.
  • Serves as Contracting Officer Representative (COR) to oversee service and equipment contracts to ensure compliance with contract specifications.
  • Analyzes utilization data with command supervisors/managers to determine whether the command has excess equipment, and whether they need replacement equipment or not.
  • Identifies equipment items that are no longer economically repairable or in excess status and provides disposal/transfer authority approval to the command APO.
  • Advises site managers regarding priorities and actual requirements for operating material handling equipment.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Tour of Duty: Set Schedule.
  • Security Requirements: Non-Critical Sensitive with Secret Access.
  • Appointment subject to completion of a favorable suitability or fitness determination; unfavorable adjudicated background checks are grounds for removal.
  • Non-Exempt under FLSA.
  • Selective Service Requirement: Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt.
  • Recruitment Incentives: Not Authorized.
  • Bargaining Unit Status: Yes.
  • This position and future selections may be used to fill various shifts located within DLA Distribution Pearl Harbor.

Qualifications

  • Education: A master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., with transcripts required.
  • Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience directly related to the position (e.g., skilled mechanic, maintenance worker, sales or service engineer, planner or estimator). Experience may be demonstrated through work, volunteer or academic experience.
  • Knowledge of technical specifications, contract specifications, and equipment operation.
  • Experience with engineering change orders, requisitions, shop orders, work orders, and inventory forecasting.
  • Experience in analyzing and supervising maintenance, repair, or production operations to improve methods.
