Overview

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a highly experienced Network Architect Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support mission-critical operations for DoD and joint commands in Honolulu, HI. This on-site role demands deep technical expertise, strategic vision, and a proven ability to design and implement secure, scalable enterprise networks in classified and unclassified environments. Candidates must hold an Active TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement secure, scalable network solutions tailored to DoD enterprise environments.
  • Lead network design efforts including firewall policy, routing protocols, QoS, and cloud-enablement strategies.
  • Support cross-domain solutions and ensure compliance with DoD architecture frameworks and RMF.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders in a Joint Operations Center, providing technical guidance and professional support.
  • Deliver technical support across secure and non-secure networks.
  • Maintain documentation and ensure alignment with PACAF-specific mission requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Systems Architecture, or related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of senior-level network architecture or engineering experience supporting DoD or joint commands.
  • Active certification in one or more of the following:
    • CCNP (Routing and Switching) or CCDP (Design)
    • CAP – Certified Authorization Professional
    • SecurityX (formerly CASP+CE)
    • CISM – Certified Information Security Manager
    • CISSP – Certified Information Systems Security Professional (or Associate)
    • GSLC – GIAC Security Leadership Certification
  • Demonstrated expertise in:
    • Network architecture and firewall policy
    • Routing protocols and QoS
    • Cloud-enablement strategies
    • Cross-domain solutions
  • Strong understanding of DoD architecture frameworks, RMF, and PACAF mission demands.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and team-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in dynamic environments.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and consistent follow-through.

Compensation

Compensation for this role:

  • Salary Range: $140,000-155,000 depending on experience
  • Full Standard Benefits: PTO, Paid Holidays, Cigna Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, sick leave as required by law.
