RESPONSIBILITIESI. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES- Responsible for the safe transport of patients and things from one area of the hospital to another, to support transport needs to and from building related to The Queen's Medical Center (QMC).- May be required to transport patients and materials outside of QMC.II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS- Required finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking.- Frequent: climbing stairs, standing, walking, stooping/bending, squatting, twisting body, lifting up to 100 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 20-25 pounds on a wheeled object like a gurney; carrying up to 40 pounds, reaching above/at/below shoulder level, repetitive arm/hand motions, frequent gripping of an object.III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS- Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.- May be exposed to outside environmental conditions.- Some exposure to chemicals, odors, communicable diseases, body fluids, and hazardous materials.- Required to drive a vehicle in assignment.IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSA. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:- High School diploma or equivalent.- Valid U.S. driver's license required in accordance with HI State law rules and regulations.- Driver's abstract or evidence of good driving record required.- Meet and comply with qualifications set forth in QMC Fleet Safety Policy.- CPR certification preferred.B. EXPERIENCE:- Prior work experience in an acute care facility or customer related field preferred.- Able to demonstrate the following:o Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing and understand verbal and written communications.o Ability to handle multiple tasks and remain calm during stressful conditions.o Ability to be accurate and attentive to detail.o Ability to interact with co-workers, nursing staff, patients and visitors in a service oriented manner.o Ability to set priorities and make independent decisions with minimal supervision.o Ability to show evidence of body mechanic competency.o Ability to drive a 16 passenger van.- Prior experience working with patients who suffer from mental illness preferred.Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Vet
