Job Overview
Shriners Children's, the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center, has an opportunity for a per diem Sterile Processing Tech I to join our Surgical Services team.
This position is per diem (on call), non-exempt and benefits eligible. The pay range for this position is $19.00/hour - $23.74/hour. Compensation is based on years of experience and departmental equity.
Responsibilities
The Sterile Processing Technician I is responsible for processing sterile supplies and instruments for use during operative procedures. Selects appropriate sterilization/disinfection technique for items. Maintains sterilization and environment quality controls. Decontaminates, processes, stores sterile instrumentation, hardware, and equipment for intraoperative use, using infection control procedures. Works collaboratively with operating room personnel to assist with all perioperative phases including but not limited to case turnovers. Is responsible for maintaining and monitoring accurate records of maintenance on sterilization equipment, power equipment and surgical instrumentation. Manages surgical inventory and performs other routine tasks, as assigned. .
Qualifications
Education
* High School diploma or GED required
Certification/Licensure
* Sterile Processing Technician certification (CSPDT) desired.
Skills
* 2 years experience in Central Supply, Sterile Processing or Surgical Instrumentation Room required. Previous exposure to orthopedic instruments desirable.
